Personal and Financial Literacy Guided Math lesson Plans 3.9A 3.9B 3.9C 3.9D 3.9E 3.9F

Personal and Financial Literacy
Students learn about jobs and experience as well as skills needed to do certain jobs. They learn about scarcity and how to plan for events. Students explore the use of credit cards and explain the benefits of savings.

I have broken down each TEK into Learning Targets to make it easier to track student progress. There are 6 skills in this unit! Each learning target contains intervention and enrichment skills. A student data sheet is included for students to reflect on their own learning for the unit. A teacher tracking sheet is included to make small group instruction easier!

Each day contains objective, learning targets, materials, whole class teaching activity, guided math activity and closure with an exit ticket and answer key for most days.

Whole Class teaching in this unit contains:
Mini Lessons (Connection, Teaching Point, Active Engagement and Link to Ongoing Learning)
Flip Book for Note Taking (With Teacher Edition)
Decision Making Gallery Walk

Games and Engagement Activities in this unit include:
Resource Scarcity Sort

This unit is designed to print and go! I keep mine in a binder. You can put each day and all of the materials for that day in one sheet protector.

I hope this unit helps you with Guided Math by providing a whole class teach, active engagement, guided math activities and exit tickets for almost everyday- you can’t beat $1.20 per day for a complete unit!

Capacity vs. Weight: Choosing the Appropriate Measure Card Sorts

Capacity vs. Weight: Card Sorts

Choosing the appropriate measure for capacity or weight is tricky, but these card sorts can help! Use them orally in small groups, or individually as a practice station in Math Daily 3 or in Guided Math. Another option is to use one card at a time with the entire class. Students can answer on notebook paper and track the cards they have completed on the included recording sheet. An answer key is also included.

Cards to practice choosing the appropriate unit of measure for liquid volume (capacity) or weight. QR codes on each card make this activity self-checking. These card sorts are perfect Guided Math centers, BUILD, Daily 3 Math stations, and for partner work.

These cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in black and white. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print black and white cards on card stock. Keep them in a baggie.
Includes:
18 color cards to sort with QR codes
18 Black and white cards to sort with QR codes
Category Cards
